REAL ID

U.S travelers must be REAL ID compliant in order to board domestic flights. The real Id does not replace a passport for international travel and travelers can still use a passport for all domestic flights within the U.S.

Entering the UK with ETA ( Electronic travel authaurization)

The ETA will impact U.S and European travelers headed to the UK Starting January 8, 2025. the ETA will cost approximately $13, is not a visa and will not replace any existing visa requirements. The ETA is valid for two yrs. and is valid for multiple entries into the UK. the Eta can be gotten either through gov.uk or on the ETA App.

ETIAS entry and exit requirement

This is not yet operational. It is expected to take e4ffect in may 2025. U.S passport holders who previously travelled to Europe without a visa will now need to apply for authorization through the ETIAS platform before visiting. Once granted ETIAS travel authorization will be able to enter participating countries multiple times for short term stays It is valid for up to 3 years or until your passport expires, at which time you will have to reapply. the application form will be available on the ETIAS website and will cost will be $7.79. All communications is done by e mail. Please apply well in advance of you trip as this may take from 4 to 14 days to receive. Confirmation of application will be sent via e mail with a unique number that will be needed for future reference. Please check on their website to see which 27 countries are concerned.

New protection for airlines travelers

New federal regulations took effect that require airlines to make it easier for ticketed passengers to get their money back after flight cancellations or other significant changes. Automatic refunds if they opt not to take a rebooked flight. Under the new DOT rules, Significant delays are clearly defined across all airlines, and travelers are eligible for refunds on bag fees is a bag is delayed for over 12 hours or 15-30 hours for an international flight.
