Little Amal walks New York. Do Not forget us.

Little Amal whose name means “hope” in Arabic is on an epic journey. She is a giant puppet 12 feet tall, of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl who has traveled over 8000 miles with her message of hope.

She began her journey in the summer of 2021 after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan walking from the Syria-Turkey border to Great Britain looking for her mother. Covering 12 countries and 8000 miles to finally arrive at New York’s JFK airport in search of her uncle. Greeted by the musical talents of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, its music director Yannick Nezet-Seguin, and the children’s chorus. It was a very inspiring moment.

This visit will take her to all five boroughs where she will take part in numerous events from the 14th of September to the 2nd of October. Please go to https://secretnyc.com to see the events.

As she leaves the airport on her journey, we wish her well and hope she will find what she is looking for and will bring hope to everyone she encounters.

Little Amal walks New York is produced by The Walk Productions and St Ann’s warehouse.
