So many of us Halloween aficionados want to experience Salem during October, which is the month when most ghosts, ghouls, and witches visit because of its history and connection with the witch trials. Salem during Halloween time is amazing. If you are going to do Halloween what better place than Salem? I decided to go last minute which is not such a great idea since most people book a year in advance as the prices become prohibitive the closer you get to the first of October.

First thing, off to Party City to see if I can put together a good witch costume. Done!! Now for accommodations, that’s the hard part. Let’s figure it out together and see how to do this. After many many many calls, it was useless to even attempt to get anywhere near Salem.
The best thing to do is to look at the towns around Salem, Peabody, and Danvers even close to the airport like Revere where I will be staying.
Prepare to pay a premium for the hotel, but nothing close to what I would pay in Salem proper if I was lucky enough to even find a room. Sorry to say every place is sold out, but perseverance pays.
Getting to Salem from the surrounding towns. Public transportation is the way to go if you are too far to use Uber or you prefer to go the cheap and less stressful way. After all fighting traffic and trying to find nonexistent parking can ruin your stay. There are trains and buses and I suggest you use them.
No car, no problem, they’ve got you covered! Salem is a very walkable city with plenty of ways to get around without using a car. It is not commended to drive into Salem for Halloween, parking can be impossible, and crowds can be overwhelming.
There are many spooky and historical things to see and being that I have never been there, I will leave to my next blog the experience of Halloween in Salem. You can also get lots of info at hauntedhappenings.org.
I plan on going to the Salem witch museum. Tickets can only be bought an online same day or at 12:01 for the next day at salemwithchmuseum.com price is 16.50 for adults and 15.00 for seniors.
There are many restaurants in town and being that New England is best known in the culinary world for seafood, guess where I will be eating? I will make my recommendations when I come back.
I look forward to posting my photographs and hope that they will encourage you to visit Salem, Halloween or not. From what I hear it’s an amazing town and a beautiful part of this beautiful country. So ByBy for Now.

Have a spooktacular time!!
Thank you for reading .you too.
