What keeps you awake at night? Haunted Happenings Salem.

After a five-hour drive from New York, we finally reached the outer regions of Salem. As I mentioned previously, getting there at the last minute would make it impossible to find any accommodations in Salem. After checking into the hotel and getting ready with our costumes, we called uber who charged 35.00 to take us downtown Salem from Revere. we got there a bit late around 5 pm so not a full day to see the sites. So, a lot of nighttime photography.

I was just dipping my feet in the waters of what Salem has to offer in October. This is an experience that I will surely repeat but with some advanced preparation. Of course, if you want to experience as much as possible it is best to prepare now for next year. Although I would not discourage anyone to go last minute, I recommend at least 2 nights and 3 days. There is so much to see and do, it’s impossible not to come back again.

The restaurants were full, which was to be expected and the lines were infinite, but so many places to eat including a park full of food trucks. The food trucks were expensive $15,00 for an Italian sausage or $11.00 for three strawberries on a stick dipped in Chocolate. With better planning and more time, I am sure that the choices would be better.

For fans of the movie The Crucible, don’t miss a visit to the Salem Witch trials memorial behind the old burying point.

I did make it to the Salem witch museum, which sells out every day, at least during Halloween. It is also open year-round. The tickets go on sale at midnight and make sure you are online at 12:01 you may still have a queue to purchase, we had a 30-minute queue.
